Function of electric energy meter

1, The function of the meter in the circuit is to measure the power consumption in a period of time. The average current in this period can be calculated by the electric energy in this period of time and the working voltage of the meter.
2, The common electric energy meters are inductive mechanical electric energy meters and electronic electric energy meters:
1. The working principle of inductive mechanical watt hour meter is as follows: according to the electromagnetic induction principle, when the meter is powered on, electromagnetic fields are generated in the current coil and voltage coil to form a rotating torque on the aluminum disk. The driving gear drives the register to count. The greater the current and voltage, the greater the torque, the faster the counting, and the more electricity is used. The rotating torque of the aluminum disk is proportional to the active power of the load
2. Electronic watt hour meter uses electronic circuit/chip to measure electric energy; Use voltage divider or voltage transformer to change voltage signal into small signal that can be used for electronic measurement, use current divider or current transformer to change current signal into small signal that can be used for electronic measurement, use special electric energy measurement chip to simulate or multiply the transformed voltage and current signals digitally, accumulate electric energy, and then output pulse signal whose frequency is proportional to electric energy; Pulse signal drives stepping motor to drive mechanical register to display, or send it to microcomputer for digital display after processing.
